I’m a middle-aged guy living in Sarasota, FL. I run a small marketing agency that specializes in helping small IT companies increase their sales to banks and insurance carriers. I’m an unremarkable guy who has had a life-changing experience.
I was shot by a sixteen year old kid for no apparent reason. I never laid eyes on him before he appeared on my door step approximately two minutes before he shot me. I almost died, but I’m going to be OK. He’s being tried as an adult and the state of Florida has charged him with Attempted Murder. That carries a 25 year minimum mandatory sentence.
This blog is about “Why?”
It will also touch (occasionally) on my personal journey. I feel like God has pushed the Reset button on my life.
It will also look at the healthcare system in this country. Although I’m grateful to the people who literally saved my life, I had a back stage look at some nasty goings on that I’ll explore in due time.
And it will be about the court case. I have mixed feelings about putting a 16 year old child behind bars for 25 years, and there are people lining up on both sides of the issue.
My aim is to keep this relevant, useful and interesting. And I invite you to join in with Comments, or even a Guest Posting if you have expertise in any of the topic areas.
I can now see information on what happened to you in the about section. How long ago was it? if i may ask. One more thing I should pass on, having covered many, many criminal cases. Guilty people are rarely in a hurry to go to trial, unless the DA is offering them a slap on the wrist. regards. Robert.
